Happy Mother's Day!

This is my first Mother's Day as a mom... even if I'm still little more than an incubator.  But it made me think about how every woman should be celebrated in some special way this day.  You can be a mom in so many ways.  Women are nurturers by nature... we just each choose what deserves our love and attention.  Some moms love and care for four-legged creatures (and we know that they can often be as trying as the two-legged variety); some moms cuddle and kiss away the bad days for their husband or boyfriend; some moms grow a career with time, effort and dedication; some moms will fight tooth and nail so that their friends have joy in their lives.  I think that being a mom is about nurturing something and watching it grow simply because you loved it. Jen - who spoils Franq with endless hours of fetch and tirelessly works to create a hit show on the CW

Shannon - who offers snuggles  on-demand both to Smokey and her aspiring police officer

My sisters (including the in-laws)- who are raising beautiful children who I can only hope will influence Leo

Leigh - who has taken to motherhood like a competitive swimmer to water

Courtney - because little Miss Paisley is handful and she is always the voice of reason to help her friends make the best decisions

My Mommy - who gives endlessly to the children she's birthed and call her own, but also to countless children through education and offering a shoulder to lean on

CJ's  Mommy - I've never met a woman who loves to love so much.

My Nana - What a strong woman.. even at the young age of 91.

Miss A - Beauty by Lavish Boudoir

You may recognize A from a previous post.  Here's why.  My husband introduced me a while back to a friend of his who is an aspiring photographer.  This man is an absolutely outstanding landscape photographer, but he wants to learn a bit more about portrait photography.  I asked if he'd like to join me for a shoot to see how I do things.  Miss A was so much fun to shoot the first time and I knew that she would be comfortable having two photographers working at the same time.  She was brilliant.  We all had a great time and captured some really great photos.  I even pushed myself by trying some more dramatic lighting.  If the other photographer chooses to share some of his, I'll link it here.  In the meantime, thank you A for being such a good sport and beautiful model.  You rock!

Miss A - Boudoir - Georgia

A little peek at A's boudoir session.  With this fall weather, I'm loving cozy sweaters with boots.  Doesn't it just make you want to cuddle up for a sexy snuggle?  Sara, and associate from Randi Buchanan Makeup As Art, did her sexy smokey makeup.  A laughed when I told her "Let's make your hair even bigger!"  She said that she's always trying to style her friends' hair bigger and they tend to think she goes overboard.  Nonsense!  Big sexy waves are hot, right?

Miss A - Boudoir - San Francisco

Miss A and I were connected through a former client.  Thanks Miss K!  She just got married this month and decided to do this as a special treat for her new hubby.  Lucky guy, right?  She hired Courtney from Kiss & Makeup to do the perfect sexy bride look.  She brought along a piece from the VS Sexy Little Bride line and it was gorgeous.  I already posted a sneak preview of a few of her pictures, but I wanted to keep her face concealed until after her wedding.  I didn't want to ruin the surprise.  It's been driving me crazy because she's just so friggin' gorgeous and it was such a shame to crop out her face.  But now she's officially wed and the cat is out of the bag.  Thanks Miss A for trusting me to help start your marriage off on a decidedly sexy note.  Congrats!

Miss A... - Sacramento - Lavish Boudoir

Miss A... was referred by a former client of mine (thanks Miss K) when I was home to Sacramento for some weddings and some shooting.  A... made a brilliant decision to hire Courtney of Kiss & Makeup to bring out her sexiest self.  A glass of champagne in hand, a best friend for moral support and she definitely felt at ease by the time we began shooting.  A... was game for anything and rocked it out like a star.  She brought the most adorable lingerie, including a sexy little slip from the Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Bride collection and a gorgeous pale lace slip and panty set.  Amazingly enough, her fiance had picked out that second slip for her.  It's really not often that guys pick out such beautiful pieces.  A... will be married later this year and present a gorgeous Supermodel album to her beloved.  Isn't that the perfect way to kick off a marriage?  Lucky guy!
