Sister Beauty Shoot - Lavish Boudoir

"She's my sister.  Break her heart and I'll break your face."  - Unknown Okay, I was going to post a syrupy sweet quote about sisters, but this is a little more accurate.  These are some seriously feisty girls.  Adeana and I like to keep things running smoothly; we have a system that works.  And then you get girls like these.  Ha! Enthusiastic, sarcastic, energetic and a tad wild do not even begin to describe these girls.  They're the type of girl to sign the other up for a reality show without telling her.  I finally had to separate them in order to get more than just laughing expressions.  Each is so beautiful and they love each other like crazy.  What a blessing it is to be a sister and to have one.

Time to say goodbye

Whoa. It's been a hell of a ride. We have some very important news to share. Some good, some sad, all exciting. I (Leslie) have moved to a new state this week. In this next leg of my adventure I'll be seeking a new studio, new clients and a whole new experience. I'm going to take my skills to a whole new level with coaching from Modern Love Photography. Who would of thought boudoir could get even sexier?

So what happens to the studio??? Well, we closed the doors for good on July 30. I didn't cry, but it sure did hit me right in the gut. When I signed that lease, I'm pretty sure I held my breath until I wrote my first check because I was absolutely terrified of the commitment to owing so much every month. But with hard work and an amazing team, Adeana and I pulled it off until the Air Force said it was time to pack it up and go. We loved every minute of it.

Isn't kissing the best?  Like real kissing... not the pecks that are better used on puppies and children.  I mean all the other stuff is fabulous, too, but nothing takes your breath away like being kissed with all the passion, excitement and fervor that come with being kissed against a wall... or wanting someone in such a consuming way that you push them against the wall where they have nowhere to go but against your lips.

After Hours with Lavish Boudoir

Stripped Down Workshop 2014

Okay this is waaaaay overdue. I thought I wrote about it, but I went back to reference it and couldn't find a post.  Tonight Adeana had a photo shoot.  I wanted her to push the limits, to bring a sexier edge to her already fabulous photos.  To evoke emotion in her client.  Why?  Because one year ago I attended a workshop by the fabulous Denise Birdsong of Modern Love Photography. What a game-changer.  I've always valued the way a photo makes a client feel more than the technical aspects.  Chopped limb, who cares? As long as it makes the client look and feel amazing.  When I heard about this workshop I was so excited... and nervous. I'm kind of a shy girl and I knew this would push me.

She started us out with making us all get out of our comfy seats, onto the floor and breathing heavily.  Embarrassing, right? But we all did it... and giggled a bit.  But she was right.  Once you start to breathe, you start to relax and you start to trust.

Throughout the day she gave us the skills to communicate with our clients.  To coach them and to be fearless in what we ask of our clients.  It is up to us to help YOU feel sexy and glamorous and confident.  I was ready to take it on full-force.  Adeana and I photographed each other using her techniques and LOVED the results.  But then I got preggo and lost my mojo.  Any idea how hard it is to appear seductive when you have a basketball-sized bump under your shirt?  If you don't use it, you lose it.  And I lost it without even knowing it.

Flash-forward a year, I'm on hiatus due to aforementioned child and sudden move out of state.  I'll be starting up a new studio soon.  The market is already saturated with fantastically talented photographers and I started to panic.  But then I realized, whoa, I've got something to set myself apart.  To bring raw emotion to a portrait rather than just another sexy photo.  With Denise's lessons running through my brain, I have no doubt I'll find success with the clients who want just what I provide.

P.S. She has got to be the sexiest woman that has walked the planet and it has very little to do with her gorgeous appearance.  We could all learn a little something from her.
