Miss D - Lavish Boudoir

Miss D was another anniversary special client.  Considering she owns Stripped Waxing, I couldn't believe she hadn't been in the studio before.  Apparently lots of our mutual clients come in and share their photos with her, so she decided to go for it.  She is an awesome business woman and a dream to photograph.  I chose these three photos because I like to show how different one outfit can look.  Isn't that pink corset skirt adorable?

Yoga for Boudoir from Sutherland Yoga

I recently had the opportunity to take some studio photos for Sutherland Yoga.  I asked their amazing instructors to show me a few beginner yoga poses to help my clients prep for their studios.  Everyone tells me that they are using unusual muscles to get into the sexy poses, so this should help.  Keep an eye out every Wednesday for the next 4 weeks!  P.S. Cobra:

Lay on your belly with the tops of your feet flat on the ground and your hands underneath your shoulders.  Tuck your elbows back.  Inhale and slowly push your shoulders away from the mat while keeping your hips and legs down.  Only go as far as you are comfortable.  Keep your shoulders down away from your ears and feel your chest open up.  Press those hips into the mat and continue to breath.  Release on an exhale after a few deep breaths.  If this is too challenging, keep your elbows on the ground and push up the same way.

Meet S. Miss MP - Lavish Boudoir

This gorgeous young woman came into my studio for my anniversary special.  I carded her.  Ha!  Through her pre-shoot consult, I learned that she has a deep admiration for classic beauties including the iconic Marilyn Monroe.  We went with a neutral eye and a bit of liner to accentuate her bright eyes.  When you speak to her, she's enthusiastic and spirited, but in front of the camera, she takes on a sultry look with perfect bedroom eyes.  Very few young women know how to exude that innate sensuality.  I was so impressed, and I think Marilyn would be impressed.  More to come another day! Instant Gratification is Sexy

We are all of a want-it-now world. It's tough to accommodate that with a high end boutique business, but I've made a huge effort. This year I introduced same-day proofing. Yup, I glue myself to the Mac for 4 hours straight, Red Bull in hand, and dive into retouching your proofs. I honestly thought it would kill me. But it has actually made me a much better photographer. I know longer have the little voice in my head that says, "oh, I can fix it later on Photoshop." I can't. I don't have time. So that flawless booty, it's not a trick of photography. It's experience knowing just how to make your ass look friggin' hot. Anyway, I digress. It's allowed me to see the faces of delight for all of my clients when they see their photos for the first time (even the ones who travel for hours to my studio. It's allowed them to take off the edge of nerves quickly. No more weeks of wondering if they'll live up to your expectations. Basically, it turns out to be win-win.Unfortunately I can't create a custom less leather-bound album in under 6 weeks. I can't personally slip your prints into mats and place them gently in a hand-crafted folio box in less than 2 months. But here's my next step in catering to you ladies who need a gift in your hands practically yesterday! Prints, in your hands and ready to go right after your ordering! You know... Just in case hubby's birthday is tomorrow. These are not a substitute for my gorgeous lab prints, but they are pretty darn nice. Any print that you purchase for an album, folio, canvas or flash drive can be printed for $5 individually or mounted in a Little Black Book of 10 for $50. Awesome right? Here's a quick iPhone snap of a print. Little Black Books will be available starting in December.

PS: I can offer these in a deep sexy red silk or black. Which do you think I should carry. For now, both isn't an option. ;-)

The Button-Down Shirt for Boudoir

I can say that I usually hate the idea of wearing a man's shirt for boudoir. While I do agree that leaving something, I don't think you should leave EVERYTHING to the imagination. My tips for pulling off this look.1) Wear a woman's tailored button-down shirt. I love the ones from Banana Republic 2) For extra style, buy one with French cuffs and get some cheeky cuff links. 3) Choose a solid color. Stripes just get dizzying. 4) Barely wear it. Bunch it up or drop it off the shoulders. 5) Clip it in the back for extra tailoring.
